Our History

Hansberger Global Investors Inc. (HGI) was founded in 1994 with the aim of providing the finest global and international equity investment management and client service to the institutional investment marketplace. HGI’s goal is to consistently provide clients with superior risk-adjusted returns through employing a disciplined, fundamental, bottom-up approach to research and portfolio management.

HGI’s global focus is evident in the location of its offices. The firm has representation in the major geographic regions of North America, Europe and Asia. In addition to its US based headquarters, the firm has research offices in Canada, Hong Kong, India and Russia. It is important to note that the research offices are located away from the widely recognized money centers such as New York, London and Tokyo. Often the investment community moves together; however, HGI believes that you cannot be a leader by following the pack. HGI values independence and prefers to rely on its own financial judgment.

HGI’s two flagship international equity products - International Equity Value and International Equity Growth - have been managed by teams of highly experienced senior investment professionals since 1996 and 1998 respectively. As HGI approaches its sixteenth year of managing institutional assets, the firm remains as focused as ever at meeting its performance objectives while staying true to its core values and philosophy, and always seeking to adhere to the highest ethical and professional standards.
