Eileen Smiley joined HGI in September 2010 as Senior Vice President & General Counsel. In this position, she is responsible for all legal matters pertaining to HGI and its subsidiaries in addition to the management of HGI's Legal and Compliance department. Eileen started her career in the legal and investment services field in 1991. Prior to joining HGI, Eileen worked for Wellington Management Company, LLP, in Boston, MA where she represented global advisory firm in its day-to-day business activities, including providing legal support for sales/servicing efforts for clients, global trading, and US regulatory issues. Before joining Wellington Management, Eileen worked for USAA in San Antonio, TX supporting its securities-related activities, Morrison & Forrester, LLP in Washington D.C., and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in the Divisions of Investment Management and Enforcement in Washington D.C. Eileen graduated from the University of California at Davis School of Law (Order of the Coif), and received her BA from Trinity College, Hartford, CT (Phi Beta Kappa). She is a member of both the California and District of Columbia Bar Associations.
